Prepare For Your IV Experience
Get as hydrated as possible
While some IV drips, such as the vitamin mix, are supposed to rehydrate you, staying hydrated prior to your treatment helps make your veins more prominent and accessible to set up your drip with ease. Dehydration affects the visibility and accessibility of your veins, which is why staying hydrated is one of the most important prerequisites to enjoying your treatment.
Don't come hungry
It’s important to keep your blood sugar levels at an optimal level prior to and during your treatment. Some of the vitamins and minerals that are delivered during your treatment could lower your blood sugar and blood pressure levels. Proceeding with your IV drip on an empty stomach could cause you to feel light-headed, and would not be recommended.
Stay active
After a heart-pumping workout, do your arms appear more “vascular” than usual? Here’s why: as we increase our bodily movement, we generate heat; the more heat we generate, the more our vessels dilate. Moving around before your vitamin drip appointment helps ensure a successful IV treatment. The quick, short walk from our private car park to your private IV cinema should do the trick!
Avoid antihistamines and decongestants
Antihistamines & decongestants relieve allergy symptoms and alleviate headaches, but they have a constricting effect on your blood vessels. This can cause you to experience a challenging IV treatment. But if you must take these over-the-counter meds, make sure you hydrate, eat a snack and go for a quick jog around the block before your treatment.
Relax and breathe
Once you’re in our private IV cinema, relax and take in a few deep breaths. This relieves tension and prepares your body for your treatment. Try five deep belly breaths like this: - Place one hand on your chest and the other on your belly. - Watch the hand on your belly expand outward with each breath. - If you find your chest expanding instead of your belly focus on expanding your belly as you breathe in.
